Soften Your Hands with Avocado

From SevenDesktop.com
Its May already, and here in the Philippines, the season of Avocado is about to reach its peak. Such a great time to take advantage of the things this seasonal fruit brings.

Did you know that Avocado in general is a great source of ingredients for beauty products? It is rich in essential nutrients and amino acids that are extremely beneficial to skin. Here's one of the ways on how your skin can benefit from Avocado aside from just eating it.

The next time you buy Avocado for consumption, set aside one or two fruits to ripen really well. A quick way to ripen Avocado is to put it on a cool, dark place like a cupboard, but old folks here in the Philippines used to put unripe fruits where they keep the rice supply. Once it ripens, get the flesh of the Avocado and mash it completely.

After it becomes a greenish paste, add a liberal amount of Avocado Oil to amplify the moisturizing effects and stir well. If Avocado Oil is hard to find, you can use Olive Oil, Grapeseed Oil or Virgin Coconut Oil instead. Add a few drops of either Lavender Essential Oil or Patchouli Essential Oil to scent the mixture and continue stirring. These are also excellent for healing dry and damaged skin.

Out of the batch that you made, scoop out a big spoonful to another bowl and keep the rest in the refrigerator. Add some sugar granules to your spoonful, mix a little bit and scrub it to your hands. Leave for about 1 to 2 minutes and rinse. Repeat 2-3 times a day for 3 days and you'd be surprised how awesome your hands would be after 3 days.
